Risk Officer
Position Overview
Monetary Metals (MM) is a disruptive, high growth gold platform, which pays interest to savers, finances qualified businesses, and provides a liquid marketplace for gold leases and bonds. Monetary Metals is seeking a Risk Officer to assist the Chief Risk Officer and General Counsel in building a Risk Department for the Company. The Risk Officer will support legal, risk, compliance, and operational functions of Monetary Metals, with a particular focus on Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Know Your Customer (KYC), and regulatory compliance activities. You would be responsible for assisting with general legal documentation and calendar management. This position reports to the Chief Risk Officer.
Core Responsibilities
- Responsible for leading onboarding and due diligence for Monetary Metals clients and counterparties, including compliance requirements for vendors and partners.
- Maintain compliance records and support legal documentation, contract administration, and calendaring while handling sensitive information with discretion.
- Assist with AML/KYC onboarding, due diligence reviews, and ongoing customer monitoring.
- Collect, organize, and maintain customer identification and compliance documentation in coordination with our Relationship Management team.
- Track regulatory filings, compliance certifications, and record retention requirements.
- Prepare, review, and maintain legal documents, including NDAs and a wide variety of standard contracts.
- Manage legal and compliance document repositories and ensure accurate recordkeeping.
- Conduct preliminary research on legal, regulatory, and compliance matters.
- Coordinate signatures, approvals, and document execution workflows.
- Monitor outstanding compliance items and follow up with internal teams and external parties.
- Support audits, examinations, and compliance reviews by gathering requested documentation.
Qualifications
- 1-2 years of legal/paralegal experience preferred.
- AML/KYC, compliance, legal administration, financial services, or similar compliance experience preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft 365 suite, and document management systems.
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
