Position Overview
Monetary Metals is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a high-growth company. Key Objectives
- Maintain accurate and timely accounting records across all financial systems.
- Support accounts payable, bank transactions, and general ledger activities.
- Assist in financial reporting and audit readiness.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards.
Core Responsibilities
Accounts Payable
- Validate vendor bills and ensure proper approvals are obtained.
- Record and maintain accounts payable in the accounting system.
- Send remittance advice to vendors to ensure proper application of payments.
Bank Transactions
- Record and classify bank transactions accurately and promptly within the accounting system.
General Ledger Maintenance
- Post journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
- Reconcile accounts and update financial transactions.
- Ensure proper classification, accuracy, and documentation of accounting records.
Financial Reporting
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Support balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow reporting.
Audit Support
- Support external audits by providing documentation, reconciliations, and explanations.
- Respond to auditor inquiries and assist with audit processes.
Additional Responsibilities
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
- 2–4 years of accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
